DPI
Before you design, you need a canvas in pixels. This calculator turns a physical print size (in inches) into the exact pixel count at your target DPI.

Use it when a client asks for a 10-inch-wide left-chest logo at 300 DPI, or when you are setting up a gang sheet template.

How it works / formula

Pixels = inches × DPI.

If you need both width and height, run the calculator twice — once per side.

Worked example

Example (illustrative)

  • Left chest width: 4 in at 300 DPI.
  • Pixels = 4 × 300 = 1200 px wide.
  • Height is calculated separately from the art aspect ratio.

Assumptions & limitations

This calculator provides an estimate for planning and quoting. Actual results vary with supplier pricing, ink coverage, waste, labour rates, equipment and marketplace fee changes. Always verify critical numbers before production. See the disclaimer.

Typical apparel print widths (inches)

Placement Common width Notes

Full front 10–12 DTF / screen print
Full back 11–14 Large graphic
Sleeve 2–3 Vertical designs

Frequently asked questions

Should I round pixels up or down?

Round to whole pixels in your design file. RIP software expects integer dimensions.

Does this include bleed?

No. Add bleed separately with our Bleed & Safe Area calculator or add 0.125 in per side before converting.

Are Inches to Pixels Calculator results exact for production?

Treat them as planning estimates. Calibrate against your equipment, invoices and waste logs before you lock customer quotes.

Do my inputs leave my browser?

No. PressMath calculators run client-side. Only the contact form sends data you intentionally submit.

What should I do after I get a number?

Open a related calculator or guide on this page, sanity-check units, then verify on a sample before a full run.
