DPI
Designers search “A4 size in pixels at 300 DPI” every day. Pick a standard paper size, set DPI, and get the exact canvas — plus a bleed line using 0.125 in per side (common in commercial print).

How it works / formula

Trim canvas pixels = paper inches × DPI for width and height.

Bleed canvas adds 0.25 in to each dimension (0.125 in bleed on all four sides).

Worked example

Example (illustrative)

  • US Letter at 300 DPI: 8.5 × 11 in → 2550 × 3300 px trim.
  • With bleed: 8.75 × 11.25 in → 2625 × 3375 px.

Frequently asked questions

Is A4 the same as Letter in pixels?

No. A4 is slightly narrower and taller than US Letter, so pixel counts differ at the same DPI.

Are Paper Size in Pixels Calculator results exact for production?

Treat them as planning estimates. Calibrate against your equipment, invoices and waste logs before you lock customer quotes.

Do my inputs leave my browser?

No. PressMath calculators run client-side. Only the contact form sends data you intentionally submit.

What should I do after I get a number?

Open a related calculator or guide on this page, sanity-check units, then verify on a sample before a full run.
