How detailed?
Basic = fastest path. Standard = more control. Advanced = full shop detail.
How it works / formula
Calculation steps
- Top width = π × top diameter.
- Bottom width = π × bottom diameter.
- If they differ, the wrap is a trapezoid.
Worked example
Example (illustrative)
- Top 3.1 in / bottom 2.7 in → widths ≈ 9.74 in / 8.48 in at 8.2 in height.
Assumptions & limitations
This calculator provides an estimate for planning and quoting. Actual results vary with supplier pricing, ink coverage, waste, labour rates, equipment and marketplace fee changes. Always verify critical numbers before production. See the disclaimer.
Sublimation tips
| Tip | Why |
|---|---|
| Use brand template | Beats hand math for tapered cups |
| Mirror art | Most presses require it |
| Leave seam gap | Prevents overlap wrinkles |
Frequently asked questions
Can I use the mug wrap tool instead?
Only for straight cylinders. Tapered tumblers need this tool or a supplier template.
Why does my logo lean?
Usually a rectangular wrap on a tapered cup. Use the trapezoid template from the blank maker.
Do I mirror the art?
Most mug/tumbler presses need mirrored files — confirm for your press.
What about seams?
Leave a small overlap or safe gap depending on your tape and press method.
